Overview

When a game studio is in trouble, your crew gets the call. Project Burnout is a turn-based management strategy game about a traveling fixer crew. Studios own the games. You arrive when their production plan is already slipping, take responsibility for the week, and help the team get work moving again.

Features

  • Rescue multiple game studios in cities around the globe
  • Grow from a three-person crew to five specialists across escalating engagements
  • Rebuild a Monday-to-Friday calendar by placing, splitting, and moving dependent tasks
  • Match development, design, QA, admin, and art work to trained specialists, or pay in speed and stress
  • Balance project offers, income, payroll, reputation, deadlines, overtime, and human limits
  • Handle employee decisions, traits, stress, sickness, and absence as the weeks stack up

English narration transcript
  1. 00:00.460–00:08.865 Here is the thing about game development… the work is never just the work… You have to know your people, and build around what they do best.
  2. 00:09.085–00:14.239 You also have to listen. Everyone has needs, opinions, and limits.
  3. 00:15.419–00:23.638 Pressure just happens. A burnout doesn’t have to. Make room, move the work, and give your people time to recover.
  4. 00:24.358–00:27.376 If you do that well, the results will speak for themselves.
  5. 00:28.216–00:31.095 Turn experience into a management style of your own.
  6. 00:32.867–00:37.789 Then take what you’ve learned from one city to the next, in Project Burnout.
